With the development of machining technology, there are many kinds of processes can be used for sheet metal processing workpiece processing, welding is one of the very important processes in the process. When welding sheet metal, welding must be performed correctly to ensure product quality and personnel safety. To ensure the quality of sheet metal processing, pay attention to the length of the arc and the welding speed of the structural parts.

1. Length of arc. The arc length is related to the type of electrode coating and the thickness of coating, which will directly affect the welding quality of the product. As far as possible, sheet metal should be processed with short arcs. Long arcs may produce pores, which may cause harmful gases such as CO2 and N2 in the air to invade the weld, produce easily oxidized metal at high temperature, form adverse impurities such as oxides, and affect the quality of the weld. Short arcs are a good way to avoid this, especially for bottom hydrogen electrodes.

2. Welding speed of sheet metal processing workpiece. Welding speed is related to various factors, which affect the quality of sheet metal processing, so it is necessary to calculate the appropriate welding speed. The diameter of electrode, coating type, welding current, heat capacity of welding materials of structural parts, structural beginning and other conditions have changed accordingly, and it is impossible to formulate standard provisions. Proper welding speed can avoid weld residue and porosity. If welding sheet metal workpiece processing speed is too fast, welding parts cooling shrinkage stress increase, weld cracks, product quality will not be guaranteed.

Sheet metal processing mainly refers to the processing of uniform thickness of the plate technology. Precision sheet metal parts are more difficult for sheet metal processing.
